“Meeting Laura”: Team Golfwell’s 5 Stars Review

Five Stars. An Exceptional New Author.
I enjoyed reading “Meeting Laura: A novel loosely and partially inspired by the life of…” written by a brilliant new author, Anna “Annina” Lorenzi. I thought this story was excellently written and in my opinion, she writes exceptionally well using an economy of words telling a very descriptive story that springs a plethora of intriguing and thought-provoking concepts and emotions. For example,

“A sudden air pocket shook him from his deep sleep and from his calm and intense dreaming. He looked around trying to understand at what point in the trip he had been so arrogantly disturbed. On the monitor, the trace of the trip wasn’t visible, anymore, while the images of welcome and the various instructions for how to speed up the controls once landed were running in a loop.

“Still a bit groggy and with a foggy mind, he peeked out through the little window. He had done it, had almost gotten through all the initial phases, the hardest ones; they were perfectly on time and about to land.”

I felt this author is exceptionally talented and has crafted an intriguing book the likes of which I haven’t read before. It is unique and it was a joy for me to read as I, a casual reader, at times get bored with stories as many readers do. But I found this author’s work refreshing, different, and exciting.

She begins the book by dedicating it “to those minds wanting to think, to those hearts wanting to beat, to the brave and the crazy,” and she accomplishes all these somewhat contrasting concepts very well.

Like many, I unfortunately at times take things for granted and life seems dull, but I found after reading her work I gained a new perspective on life and new energy.

I liked her prose. For example,

“I walk a few steps away from you, a little behind you. I try to act as if nothing particular is going on, try not to be noticed, but remain focused. I want to be ready in case of need, if you should need help, if you should need something, anything… There’s no way of knowing, it won’t happen, but just in case, I will be there, I’ll be there for you. And this is my first thought, now.”

All in all, I very much enjoyed the work of this author. I believe anyone who likes to read a unique work will enjoy this book. Excellent and original ending too! Highly recommended!

It was my pleasure to receive a complimentary copy of this book but that does not in any way influence my review of this exceptional book.
