“The Microscope” & “The Roller Coaster”: Team Golfwell’s 5 Stars Reviews

The Microscope” – Five Stars

I enjoyed reading “The Microscope. A collection of snapshots immortalized with a pen (Some Call It Poetry)” by Anna “Annina” Lorenzi, who writes dramatic, haunting, idyllic, highly imaginative, lyrical, and melodious poetry.

The title of the book refers to “snapshots” that are her beautiful poems. In my opinion, she is a unique and very creative poet. She describes her book with these words,

“Within these pages, you’ll find everything and its exact opposite. You’ll find me. Better yet, though, you’ll find what you yourselves want to find.”

Reading her work I felt feelings I have not felt for a while. This exceptionally talented poet brought out a kaleidoscope of feelings for me. It brought me out of my own sphere waking memories of others and events in my life. It opened doors I hadn’t opened.

Here is a brief excerpt from one of her poems to show you what I mean,

‘Stay close to me…’
As always, as never before,
if you want.

Don’t go away,
stay with me,
I’m here to make you smile. ‘

…the current will take us
exactly where no one knows…’
but, a certainty, it will be beautiful…with you. ‘

…without ever being afraid of making a mistake,
you know that, and, then, life is too short
to stop and not get back in the saddle.’

In my view, her writings created instant and strong emotions and made me pause, reflect and I found her poems were in effect a rescue from everyday life guiding me to realize there was so much more in the wonderful world we live in. For example,

“The little stone table
rough to the touch

but staying seated up here above,
the view of the lake can make for dreaming.

Memories invade the soul,
but they come like a caress.

Like something of yours forever,
like something very certain.

I would have wanted to bring you
to all these places.

And to tell you stories
about lives past, but never forgotten.

To have you really know all that marvel
and to have your eyes see what you called “enchantment.”

You would have breathed that perfume for yourself,
and for sure perceived that same magic…

One day, I’ll bring you with me.
One day, maybe, if you come back.

One day, maybe…
Or maybe never.

Who knows.”

All in all, I felt this brilliant poet has written an exceptionally unique book and an amazing creation of interesting concepts that were highly thought-provoking and entertaining to me.

I also liked the rhythm of her writing and her genuineness and boldness in her work. Highly recommended and very well done!

It was my pleasure to receive a free copy of this book but that does not in any way affect my opinions in this review of this exceptional book.

The Roller Coaster” – Five Stars

I enjoyed reading “The Roller Coaster – Up’n’Down! – An extension of The Microscope (some call it poetry)” by Anna “Annina” Lorenzi, who is a highly talented poet and I enjoy reading her work. I enjoyed reading her previous book, “The Microscope. A collection of snapshots immortalized with a pen (Some Call It Poetry)” and that is another book of beautifully written poetry.

As I read this book, I felt a deeper connection to her beautiful writings from the start. At the beginning of this book, she expresses a thought-provoking “Dedication”. It went like this,

“Dedicated to those who truly believe in the deep value of Friendship as a form of Love
and in the immense significance of a Promise.
And to all those who, however it turns out, don’t really know how to get down from roller coasters.”

I felt I seem to be one of those persons who at times, doesn’t “really know how to get down from roller coasters,” I felt a connection and found that this extraordinary and gifted poet took me into the heart of the subjects she writes about where I could deeply experience a plethora of my own emotions brought out by her brilliant craft with words and the smoothness of the sound of her writings. I enjoyed her word choice and the power and rhythm in her unique and very creative writing. For example, this is an excerpt from “Lights” on the Calm Loop part of the book or, “LOOP #9”

“Lights
Bright colors, vivid, shining,
make your smile a perfect smile,
your beauty almost surprising,
the undisputed center of attention, you think.

They cast a spell over the stage’s spotlights,
they fascinate and attract with all their brilliance.
It’s almost impossible to resist them, to remain in the shadow,
to stay there only to watch.

It would be so easy to give in to the temptation,
so easy to let oneself be fooled…

(Is that smile of yours really real?)

Reflected lights, lights that deceive.
Lights that exalt that which is to be shown.

Warm lights, golden lights, real lights, and inexistent lights
that when turned on illuminate only apparent truths.

Lights that reveal a part of you,
only a part of you.

Will you remember not to forget who you were?
Will you remember what your yesterday was?
Will you be able to stay who you are?

And will you still be able to recognize yourself,
tomorrow?”

I especially enjoyed the final poem in this book “LOOP #29” that I thought was exceptionally intriguing as I felt a rush of adrenaline that most experience coming down the final run of this extraordinary roller coaster ride as it slows to a finish – only to be even more surprised at the end of the ride. I won’t’ describe the final poem more in this review and I recommend that everyone read it.

Very well done and highly recommended!

It was my pleasure to receive a free copy of this book but that does not in any way affect my opinions in this review of this exceptional book.
